©Dawn Wilson-Enoch The Whitesnake This is the first of an experimental series of works on paper. I love the textures of earth, clay and ceramic and wanted to see if they'd translate somehow to flat media. To do this, I laid paper on our back portal, wet it down with the hose and tossed various powdered earth and metallic pigments, tea leaves and drawing inks onto it. It made a huge mess, but I was pleased with the results. Making the image on the paper became a delicate process of drawing it forth rather than superimposing it upon the surface. The Whitesnake is a shamaness, a shapeshifter and holy woman of an imaginal desert world.
