“We’ll concentrate on camping, cooking, and citizenship,” says Pack Master David Gardner. Before school starts, Pack 708 will get in another camp-out.

They hope again to participate in the Sheriff’s Posse’s annual Parade and Rodeo in Bernalillo. Last year the Pack won a handsome trophy for their parade skills.

In addition to their three “C”s of activity, Mr. Gardner and Den Leader Serafin Griego are debating on schedule additions. They are looking at either a “rain gutter regatta” and picnic, or a five-mile hike on historic trails.

“There are always more activities we could do than there is time to do them,” says Mr. Gardner. “Soon it will be time for our annual popcorn sales that help our scouts with the cost of additional activities, and our Thanksgiving Sharing Project.”

New members are welcome at Pack meetings, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesdays at the Railrunner Station in Bernalillo. Pack meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The Pack’s meeting schedule will remain the same through the school year.

For further information about the Cub Scouts, contact David Gardner at 867-4689 and/or Snow Watson, Coronado Optimist Club’s Scout Liaison, at 867-2047.
