New hope for single seniors

Being “over fifty-five and single” leads many to believe their best years are behind them. New Mexico Christian Singles, a subchapter of the national nonprofit Christian Singles Info-exchange, is giving new hope to single seniors who prefer married life to the single life.

Loneliness and the need to give and receive love have no age limit. New Mexico Christian Singles has no upper age limit either. It is not necessary to have a computer to be a member, as profiles and photos are sent by regular U.S. mail, which also serves to keep member information confidential and private.

New Mexico Christian Singles is dedicated to increasing the likelihood of successful marriages and decreasing the likelihood of divorce and troubled marriages in New Mexico and throughout the United States. Detailed membership information is available at www.christian-singles.org (click on New Mexico). Those without a computer may call 1-800-869-2500 for information.

Placitas Community Center sends special thank-yous

Janice Mortensen
 Placitas Community Center manager

We would like to send a special thank-you to the staff of First State Bank in Placitas, who generously donated money to the center to purchase all the items necessary for our Turkey Bingo in November. It was a huge success. Also, a special thank-you to T & T Supermart for giving us a discount on all the items we purchased for the Turkey Bingo. Without these donations, we would not have been able to hold this event to raise money for our senior activities. It is always nice to know that businesses in Sandoval County are always willing to help out our senior citizens. Your donations are greatly appreciated by all.

The Placitas Community Center is at 41 Camino de Las Huertas, 867-1396, and is open Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
