An invitation to the holiday party at the Placitas Community Library
Come help us celebrate the holiday season on Saturday, December 12 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. This will be the last Holiday Open House in our charming and quaint library on Tierra Madre Road.
We have many reasons to celebrate as we look forward to the opening of our new library sometime early in 2010. Right now, we want to give all our patrons and volunteers a chance to say goodbye to our first library and to our only paid employee, Bonnie the cat. Bonnie is an excellent mouser and has served us well. She has many friends among our patrons, both children and adults. This is your chance to wish her well as she moves to a private home.
The Children’s activities begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until noon. We are asking all patrons and volunteers to bring a new children’s book to donate to the Sandoval County Blessings Day. It can be a book for any age, from pre-K to high school. The children attending the party will help to wrap the books and make a cat tree ornament in honor of Bonnie. Next, we will have a story time for the children, and at 11:00 a.m., Santa will arrive and stay until noon. Photos will be taken and will be emailed to you free of charge. Please be sure to sign your name on our photo list and give us your email address. The last activity for the children will be the breaking of the piñata.
Don’t miss out on all the fun! Celebrate the holidays, your love of reading, the old library, giving to others, and Bonnie! Refreshments will be served.
