June 28: Sandoval County Soccer Club Registration. June 29: Lavender fiesta—a benefit for Peanut Butter and Jelly Family Services and sponsored by the Village of Corrales and the Corrales Growers Market. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Craft demonstrations, food booths, music, children’s activities, and more. Adjacent to the Corrales Recreation Center. Advance tickets: $5 each or four for $15. Gate: $7. Children 12 and under are free. Parking is free. 858-1013.

June 27, 28 and 29: New Mexico Arts and Crafts Fair, New Mexico State Fairgrounds. June 27 and 28: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; June 29: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets at the gate: $5 adults, $4 seniors, children under 12 free. June 30: United Blood Services teams up with Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa for a blood drive before the Independence Day holiday to help reduce anticipated shortage. 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Santa Ana Pueblo, Bernalillo.


July 3: Sandoval County Commission, 3 p.m., Commission Chambers.

July 3-27: LUSH, a temporary autonomous zone created by 10 audacious artists at the Manual Lujan Fine Arts Building, New Mexico State Fairgrounds. Closed July 4th. Opening reception July 11, 5-9 p.m. Gallery hours: Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays from 11-6 p.m.; Fridays 11-5 p.m. For private viewings, call 766-9178.

July 4: Fireworks display at NM Soccer Complex at Santa Ana. Sponsored by the Town of Bernalillo and Santa Ana Pueblo. $1 per person, $5 per carload. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks begin about 8 p.m.

July 4: Annual Placitas Fourth of July Parade. Participants assemble in front of Placitas Heights at 10 a.m., No registration or fee. Parade starts at 11 a.m. and winds through Placitas village. Spectators welcome to bring chairs and coolers.

July 4: Old Fashioned Family 4th of July. Jemez Springs celebrates its history, three cultures, and veterans. 9-10 p.m. Parade begins at 10 a.m. Special guests: Nelson Martinez y Mariachis Los Gallos. Vintage dress and vehicles. July 4: Nonemergency county offices closed in observance of Independence Day holiday.

July 9: Placitas Community Library planning group is seeking a location. The ideal property would be somewhere along Highway 165.
