FIRE & RESCUE

No fireworks, please—

News from the Placitas Fire Department

Paul Bearce
Chief
Placitas Volunteer Fire Brigade

The officers and members of the Placitas Volunteer Fire Brigade urge the residents of our beautiful village not to use fireworks this year. Even though we have received some rain in the past month, we are still in a drought pattern and the potential of a catastrophic fire still exists. Sandoval County has issued a ban on nearly all fireworks in unincorporated areas as of June 19.

Please celebrate the Fourth by participating in the village parade and watching some of the commercial displays in the area. Thank you for your cooperation.

The Placitas Volunteer Fire Brigade would like to invite you to their thirtieth anniversary celebration and health fair. The event will feature many exhibitors and displays on home and family safety. It will be held at the Merc parking lot on Saturday, August 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please come celebrate with us.
