Try the Community Center for lunch

Sandoval County Senior Centers serve noontime meals on site and homebound meals for seniors unable to come to the center. The noontime meals are a great opportunity to eat a well-balanced meal and spend some time visiting with other members of the community.

Meal service at the Placitas Community Center begins at noon and continues until about 12:20 p.m. Residents who are 60 years of age or older may enjoy lunch for $1.50. People under 60 years of age are welcome—including children—but must pay $4.50 per meal. The seniors are served first, while those under 60 will be served at 12:15 p.m.

July 7: Spaghetti and meat sauce, green beans, tossed salad, garlic bread, sliced apples, cookies

July 8: Sub sandwich—ham, bologna, turkey, cheese, lettuce and tomato, potato chips, canned apricots

July 11: Bean burrito with green chile, Spanish rice, Mexican corn, tapioca pudding

July 12: Turkey à la king, noodles, biscuit, sweet potatoes, carrots, sliced peaches

July 13: Red chicken enchiladas, pinto beans, papitas, tossed salad, cherry crisp

July 14: Meat loaf and gravy, baked potatoes, peas and carrots, mixed fruit, cookies
