Parents and friends join scouts at a swim party hosted by the Downings, in Placitas.

Scouts swim, camp, and earn badges

“June was very active as will be July and August,” reports Pack 708’s Cub Master David Gardner.

July begins with the July Fourth bicycle parade in Placitas, while June began with fishing, scout day camps, and hiking.

Isaac Garcia passed the requirements for the bicycling belt loop. Andres Vigil attended the two-day Day Camp, passed more belt loops and Webelos requirements. Brandon, Colin, and Ayden will attend the Scout’s four-day Day Camp and pass other requirements.

Three scouts earned their swim belt loops while a lot of people had fun at the Downings’ pool party for the scouts at the end of June. The Downings provided a hamburger/hot dog dinner with all the fixings, chips, drinks, and watermelon on the patio.

During the summer, Pack 708 continues its Tuesday and monthly planning meetings at Carroll Elementary School. For more information, contact Tori Tafoya at 414-1885, or Snow Watson at 867-2047.
