Gino Rinaldi of Bernalillo receives prestigious Rotary award
Gino Rinaldi, a local businessman, has been named in a recognition award to the Rotary International Foundation by Rotary District #5520, by Randy Gleason, Rotary District #5520, and his wife, Debbie.
The gift of $1,000 made by the Gleasons in the name of Gino Rinaldi to the annual programs fund helps support the educational and humanitarian programs of Rotary worldwide. Grants from the foundation come back to the local district in the form of funds for projects such as Ambassadorial Scholars, Peace Scholars, Group Study Exchange, and International Partnerships, which benefits all citizens in New Mexico and West Texas, as well as partnering communities.
As part of the recognition award made by the Gleasons, Gino will receive a commemorative certificate, a Paul Harris Fellow pin, and a medallion. Gino, a member and president-elect of the Bernalillo-Coronado Rotary Club, is also the administrator of the Sandoval County Senior Program, where he continues to build on his twenty-plus-year career in gerontology. An active reservist in the U.S. Air Force, he resides with his family in Bernalillo.
The vision of Rotary founder Paul Harris, in whose memory the award is established, is for the spirit of friendship and service to evolve into service activities by individuals and groups to enhance quality of life and human dignity, encourage high ethical standards, and create greater understanding among all people to advance the search for peace in the world.
“It is an honor to recognize Gino Rinaldi. He is an emerging Rotary leader, someone with a Rotary heart, and is an individual that has made a commitment to further the work of Rotary,” said Randy Gleason.
Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service and help to build goodwill and peace in the world. There are twelve hundred thousand Rotary members in thirty-two thousand Rotary clubs in nearly 170 countries. Rotary celebrates a century of serving communities worldwide in 2005.
