Cub Scout summer fun

—Suzann Owings

In addition to our annual day camps, this month Pack 708 will have a backyard cook-out. The boys will cook their own food, and then learn about history and art through a Native American arts and crafts presentation given by a couple from Cochiti Pueblo.

“Preparing our own food at a cookout helps the boys continue to practice caring for themselves,” says Scout Master Mr. Gardner.

Summer day camps will be June 16 through June 19 at Cibola High School in Albuquerque, and June 26 through June 27 at the LDS Church on Loma Colorado in Rio Rancho. Registration is still open.

New members are welcome at pack meetings held Wednesdays at the Rail Runner Station in Bernalillo from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.  Pack meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month.

For further information, contact David Gardner at 867-4689 or Snow Watson, Coronado Optimist Club’s Scout Liaison, at 867-2047.
