Tiger Cubs in Placitas

Tiger cubs roar into Placitas

“Thanks to Leland Bowen and David Gardner, our Cub Scout Troop 708 will start another Tiger Cub Pack,” said Snow Watson, president of the Optimist Club de Sandoval. Prospective Tiger Cubs and their parents were invited to the next planning meeting on February 29 at 6:00 p.m. at the Las Placitas Presbyterian Church.

Amren Hartleigh and Francisco Baldonado brought their parents to the start up meeting February 17, where they decided to meet again. On March 14, at 6:00 p.m., they will host a Blue and Gold Banquet for the new pack, also at the Las Placitas Presbyterian Church.

“I’ll ask the Scouts to do a ‘Boy Talk’ at Placitas Elementary School between now and our Blue and Gold Banquet where we will meet more prospective scouts, map out our Pinewood Derby race, and our new boys will receive their Bobcat patches,” said Troop Master David Gardner. In a Boy Talk, all they boys at Placitas Elementary School will learn about the exciting activities available through scouting.
