Bill Diven returns to the Signpost

Bill Diven has rejoined the Signpost, once again serving as news editor after leaving KRQE News 13 to return to freelancing. Diven is a veteran print and broadcast journalist. He has lived in New Mexico since moving to Las Cruces with his family during his mid-school years. Since then, he has lived in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Carrizozo and become one of the longest-serving journalists currently active in the state.

His background includes radio, television, magazines, newspapers, and websites. His work has appeared in national publications and news programs. He was also a public affairs officer in municipal government. He has been a print reporter, photographer, TV reporter, chief photographer, chief editor, radio news director, and web producer.

Diven has lived in Placitas in the wilds of Sandoval County for twenty years. Read his blog at fotogrande.com. Bill says, “While my blog is not intended to be about Placitas, I can see issues like horses and pipelines creeping in. Mostly, I’m writing on politics, media, history, railroads, and whatever is curious on a given day, while trying to put those into a larger context.

Nancille Pinkston

In loving memory of Nancille Pinkston

August 2, 1984 to February 15, 2014

Nancille recently left this world suddenly and way too soon. She was 29 years old.  She was the granddaughter of Mary Ramsay and is survived by her mom Hilary, brother Chris, Piers, Diane, Lerin, and cousins Maya, Blaire, and Lerina, plus numerous family members on her father’s side. She had a beautiful smile and a loving heart that lit up all those around her. May her spirit soar and her light shine on.

Live each day to its fullest extent, as you never know what is around the next bend. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

—With love from the family of Nancille Pinkston
