Sidewalk sale at La Buena Vida
The La Buena Sidewalk Sale fund-raiser for La Buena Vida will be held May 3, from 7:00 a.m. to 100 p.m. at 872 Camino del Pueblo. There will be great bargains on new and slightly used items. Proceeds will benefit the many services and programs of La Buena Vida’s three locations, including the 24-hour Crisis Line, mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, art therapy, case management, parent education program, psychiatric services, psychosocial rehabilitation, home-based services, and consultation and education, plus a wide array of special groups. Citizen’s Police Academy offers training to public
The Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office, along with a host of other agencies, will be hosting a Citizen’s Police Academy at Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety beginning May 28. Officers from the Sheriff’s Office, Rio Rancho DPS, New Mexico State Police, Bernalillo Police Department, Corrales Police Department, Santa Ana Police Department, Sandia Tribal Police, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms will offer instruction to all interested citizens. Subjects will include traffic-crash investigation, citizen preparedness, shooting simulators, criminal investigation, patrol techniques, narcotics investigation, date rape, community-oriented policing, SWAT, K-9 operations, and police air-support units.
