L. Heath, Representational Oil Painting
“I believe each of us has a creative core that just needs inspiration to be tapped. Some of us are also lucky enough to be able to develop that creativity into something that can be shared. Let my art inspire you today! “
L. Heath (Linda) painted off and on for 20 years before retiring from a computer project management career. Once free to pursue her passion, she immersed herself in a second career in representational oil painting. She’s a member of Oil Painters of America (OPA) and American Women Artists (AWA). Numerous works have been accepted into both regional and national juried shows.
Linda’s classical art training was obtained at the San Francisco Academy of Art. She continues to refine her skills at a number of workshops with California and New Mexico contemporary masters. She recently moved to Placitas, NM from Sausalito, California. There she draws inspiration from the Placitas/Santa Fe connection as well as from her mountain retreat in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.
Extensive travels in her youth as an Air Force brat in Morocco and later with her husband, while on a 7-year sojourn in Saudi Arabia, introduced her to some of the great art and archaeology museums of the world. Ancient and Renaissance art in the Middle Eastern and European capitals touched her deeply. These great realistic artists in stone and in paint spoke to her as prophets reaching across time, to help the world remember to appreciate beauty in all its myriad forms. Her work reflects a desire to communicate with the ancients through classical still life painting and a desire to share the beauty of the present through impressionistic landscapes.
