The Bernalillo Senior Center is located next to Our Lady of Sorrows on Camino del Pueblo in Bernalillo.

May 18: health check by Volunteer Fire Department 11-11:30 a.m.

May 19: Senior Olympic Horseshoe Tournament 10 a.m., beading trip to Stone Mountain 10 a.m.

May 22: greeting cards 12:30 p.m.

May 24: dessert social and performance by Watermelon Jug band at Bernalillo Recreation Center, near Rotary Park 1:00 p.m., sponsored by Placitas Artist Series and Placitas Community Center. Depart center at 12:15 p.m.

May 25: trip to Cuba Senior Center for Health Fair depart Placitas 9 a.m.

May 26: advisory board meeting 10 a.m., birthday social 11:30

May 29: center closed in observation of Memorial Day

May 31: picnic at Fenton Lake, depart Placitas 8:15 a.m.

Bring family and friends to join us for our open house, artist sale, and silent auction on May 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Placitas Community Center. Refreshments will be served. Local artists will have artwork, woodwork, quilting, pottery, jewelry, and much more. Come bid on an item of your choice.

There is an upcoming trip to Pecos for a one-hour guided tour on June 9. Call the center to sign up. Space may be limited.

May 3: meatball sandwich, herbed pasta, steamed Italian green beans, Caesar salad with dressing, fresh banana, cookie

May 4: roasted pork loin with gravy, baked potato with sour cream, steamed mixed vegetables, mixed green salad with dressing, soda bread with margarine, fresh grapes

May 5:  chicken fajitas with bell peppers/onions, pinto beans, tossed salad with dressing, flour tortilla, chilled peaches  

May 8: beef stroganoff over fettuccine, steamed broccoli, garden salad with dressing, garlic toast, fresh banana    

May 9: garlic/ginger chicken, steamed rice, steamed Italian green beans, mixed greens salad with dressing, sweet roll with margarine, chilled pineapple tidbits  

May 10: Waldorf chicken salad wrap, coleslaw, macaroni salad, fresh cantaloupe, cookie

May 16: savory chicken, parslied potatoes, steamed California veggies, mixed green salad with dressing, ww roll with margarine, strawberry shortcake   

May 17: beef soft taco with salsa, Spanish rice, steamed zucchini/onions, shredded lettuce/tomato, chilled peaches    

May 18: egg salad sandwich, pasta salad with veggies, coleslaw, lettuce leaf and tomato, fresh orange

May 19: spaghetti with meatballs, steamed Italian vegetables, Caesar salad with dressing, garlic toast, fresh grapes  

May 22: chicken strips, scalloped potatoes, steamed green beans, cucumber/tomato salad, fresh banana

May 23: Chef’s salad with turkey, ham, tomato, cheese and egg, croutons, club crackers, fresh apple slices, pudding

May 24: meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed cauliflower, garden salad with dressing, ww roll with margarine, fresh fruit in season 

May 25: baked pork chop, mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed carrots, spinach salad with dressing, ww roll with margarine, chilled applesauce

May 29: all centers closed for Memorial Day

May 30: Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed mixed vegetables, garden salad with dressing, ww roll with margarine, chilled peaches

May 31: chicken parmesan with pasta, steamed green beans, Caesar salad with dressing, garlic toast, chilled fruit cocktail 

Low-fat milk served with each meal. Suggested donation for lunch is two dollars for seniors; non-seniors may purchase a meal for six dollars. Menu subject to change.

This menu is for all Sandoval County senior centers.
