Sandoval Senior Connection wants you!

Elizabeth Etigson and Debbie Trujillo
Outcomes, Inc.

We need men and women over fifty-five to take peer counseling training in order to listen to other Sandoval County seniors and establish meaningful social connections with them. We encourage stories, spirit, and commitment to enjoy older adulthood. You will learn new skills, make new friends, and get to know Sandoval County. Then you give back to your community by making home visits to isolated and lonely seniors in your neighborhood. This is a win-win situation.

November sessions meet Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 to noon at senior centers. The topics, dates, and locations are as follows:

  • Counseling Techniques—November 5 at Cochiti Pueblo
  • Healthy Lifestyles—November 7 at Peña Blanca
  • Counseling/Setting Goals—November 12 at Bernalillo
  • Chemical Dependency—November 14 at Jemez Pueblo
  • Peer Education—November 19 at Santa Ana Pueblo
  • Caring for Self—November 21 at Placitas

Sandoval Senior Connection also offers caregiver-support groups on Tuesday afternoons in Peña Blanca, Bernalillo, Jemez Valley, and Cuba. A Monday evening group is held in Rio Rancho. These sessions offer listening, support, resources, and helpful tips for caring for loved ones. The topic for November is Family Teamwork. Please join us!

For more information, to register, or get directions, please call Elizabeth or Debbie at Outcomes, Inc., 243-2551 or 1-800-677-2947.
