Thinking Straight, Alcoholics Anonymous Step Study Meeting, 6:00 p.m., every Wednesday, now held at the Old Convent, 264 Camino del Pueblo, across from the Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Weekends—through October 19: Rio Grande Community Farms’ Maize Maze 2002. Leaping Lizard Corn Maze contains over 3 miles of paths cut through corn and sorghum plants. 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Moonlight Maze Walks, September 20 and 21, October 18 and 19, 8 to 10:00 p.m., Los Poblanos Fields Open Space, entrance on Tierra Viva, north side of Montaño Road, one mile west of Fourth Street. September 28: Wright’s 95th Indian Art benefit celebration, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Courtyard, lower level, San Mateo at Lomas NE in Albuquerque. Ongoing silent auction, Azteca Dancers, art demonstrations, door prizes, refreshments.

September 28: Opening reception for Geraldine Brussel (paintings and woodcuts) and Katrina Lasko (mixed media) at the Katrina Lasko Gallery. 4 to 6 p.m. 336 N. Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo. 867-2523.

September 28: Placitas Star Party hosted by Las Placitas Association. See the stars in Placitas along with the Albuquerque Astronomical Society to promote maintaining our dark skies. Sundown to 10 p.m., weather permitting. Homestead Village Shopping Center. This is a free family event.

September 28 and 29: Corrales Harvest Festival. Annual community festival featuring arts and crafts, food and product booths, entertainment, children’s activities, hayrides, and more. Corrales Road.

September 28 and 29: Casa San Ysidro, the Albuquerque Museum's historic house, opens to the public for the Corrales Harvest Festival. Traditional arts demonstrations, horno-baked bread, performances, and much more. Free. 243-7255.

October 3: Sandoval County Commission, 3 p.m., Bernalillo Town Hall.

October 4, 5: Reception for Tamara Rymer’s one-woman art show “Americana.” Paintings capturing the essence of the west through lifelike watercolors of horses and cowboys. 5 to 8 p.m. Artists demonstrations on October 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Runs through October 31. October 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13: Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festival presents “Under the Big Top.” Juried arts and crafts, demonstrations, entertainment, kid’s creation station, food. Partial benefit for Casa Angelica, a home for profoundly disabled children. $6 for a six-day pass, $4 general admission at gate, children under 12 are free. October 12:  Luncheon meeting of the West Mesa Branch of the American Association of University Women. The speaker will be Josephine Porter, President of the League of Women Voters, Albuquerque, who will speak on the coming November elections. AAUW welcomes women and men who are college graduates.
