Sandoval County youth wins top honors at State Fair
Eight-year-old Ava Marr takes raising her livestock seriously. She was rewarded for her efforts at the New Mexico State Fair where she placed State Champion with her turkey, State Champion large breeding trio, State Champion laying trio and State Champion duck which was then selected Best in Show waterfowl.
Ava is a Sandoval County Starbuck’s 4-H Club member with projects in poultry, sheep, gardening, horse and quilting. She is in the third grade at Corrales Elementary School.
