The center is also looking for someone to volunteer to teach a six-week course in Spanish.

Please come and join the Project Linus group at the center. We meet every Wednesday morning to make blankets for children that are in need in the county. We could use help in any way that you prefer, whether it be using a sewing machine, cutting fabric, knitting, crocheting, or helping in any way to create a blanket.

September 1: Pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, steamed green beans, tossed salad with dressing, fresh fruit in season

September 2: Red chile beef enchiladas, Spanish rice, zucchini and onions, shredded lettuce and tomatoes, peach crisp

September 6: Country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, mixed green salad with dressing, biscuit with margarine, chilled apricots

September 7: Baked pork chop, roasted red potatoes, steamed mixed vegetables, garden salad with dressing, whole wheat roll with margarine, chilled applesauce

September 8: Southwest baked chicken, pinto beans, zucchini and onions, mixed green salad, flour tortilla, strawberries and bananas

September 9: Swedish meatballs, steamed brown rice, steamed cabbage, tossed salad with dressing, whole wheat roll with margarine, fresh orange

September 12: Pepper steak, buttered egg noodles, steamed peas, tossed salad with dressing, biscuit with margarine, fresh pineapple spear

September 13: Egg salad sandwich on whole wheat bread, three bean salad, lettuce leaf and tomato slice, fresh melon, cookie

September 14: Frito pie, chuck wagon corn, shredded lettuce and tomato, flour tortilla, fresh orange

September 23: Fish filet sandwich, roasted red potatoes, steamed peas and carrots, coleslaw, fresh apple slices

September 26: Chicken breast strips with honey mustard, macaroni and cheese, steamed cauliflower and carrots, mixed green salad with dressing, fresh orange

September 27: Spaghetti with meatballs, Italian vegetables, Caesar salad with dressing, garlic toast, chilled fruit cocktail
